@farrowlover Yes its explained but since its the last book from either of their povs (at least until audrey’s second book) i expected it to be addressed or at least to see them talk about it a little more that the time it was briefly mentioned on the book
And something that is giving me the ick about him (other than him being disgusting) is how when he makes his deal with audrey he’s like “im doing it for her because she wants to blabla” as if it wasn’t also because he clearly wanted to
I got to the pulling out method part and i cant believe they really wrote this bullshit like i can understand audrey wanting that and believing that its effective but birdie has five years on her and much more sexual experience and he should know better like this is ridiculous 😭
And i do have to say that the cobalt empire books have some cringe scenes but i feel like there wont ever be a book as cringe and ridiculous as luna’s books
Also i feel like they bought up things like audrey needing to masturbate to sleep, or birdie using sex as a coping mechanism and then ignore them when it felt like this served a purpose to the story since this two things are introduced practically together
Honestly i do think that audrey and birdie had some cute moments but specially at the start i wasnt quite feeling them together and the fact that they start sleeping together after shes SAed as a way of getting a better sexual experience, the fact that -
Kbr didn’t actually go deep into how it affects her when it comes to intimacy and the fact that birdie is 23 while shes just turned 18 just didnt make me enjoy the book and dont even get me started on how guy’s actions have no real consequences
I hate how rose is barely in the scenes where audrey needs her parents i love connor but i thought we could see more of their mother-daughter bond im so dissappointed

Oh so guy actually admits that he knew audrey was a virgin so he restricted her hands, covered her mouth and was rough to the point of making her bleed and sore for days, didn’t even check if she was okay and then kbr want to pretend it was not rape
Lets bring something else to the table and make these scenes seem romantic and sensual because theyre not and this happens in almost every romance novel now
