I just conducted an unprompted, late night oversight visit at an ICE holding facility at the Mesa Gateway Airport with @RepGregStanton and @Rep_Grijalva. What we saw was shocking and sick.
Well over 240 detainees stacked like sardines in cells. People were sick and ICE was refusing medical care.
Here’s what happened.
Israel must immediately repeal the discriminatory death penalty law passed today by the Knesset, as it contravenes Israel’s obligations under international law.
The United Nations opposes the death penalty under all circumstances. The implementation of this new law would violate international law's prohibition of cruel, inhuman or degrading punishment.
Additionally, this law further entrenches Israel’s violation of the prohibition of racial segregation and apartheid as it will exclusively apply to Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Israel, who are often convicted after unfair trials.

Gunna be Frank.
Unless some shit starts to change real fucking fast, we are nose diving into some history book level nightmare shit for ourselves and everyone we care about.
It’s not alarmist anymore, the house is on fire.
I can’t go to Minneapolis. And it’s only a matter of time before they show up in force here in the Bay Area.
So here’s what I’m doing to help my neighbors prepare.
I’m researching local organizations that support immigrants across legal aid, health care, advocacy, and community response.
I’m donating early so those groups have resources in place before demand spikes.
I’m reaching out to let them know I’m available to help with calls or other support, including now if they need it.
I’m calling my congressmen and women and asking them not to approve ICE funding without major reform to how the organization is run.
I’ll be voting on June 2nd here in sf and Nov 3rd.
And I’m paying attention. Not looking away, even when it’s hard.
If you’re able to do any of this where you live, now is the time.
To be clear about what this depicts: An immigration officer threw a woman onto the ground. Alex Pretti, a registered nurse on scene as a legal observer, is filming and goes to help the woman up. He is then pepper sprayed and thrown to the ground for no discernible reason. Many officer surround and assault him; one removes his firearm, which police say appears to have been legally registered. They then execute him with a hail of bullets.
They are, objectively speaking, both cowards and criminals, while Pretti is what we teach people an American ought to be.
Thank you to Brenna Perez for giving the single clearest, smartest breakdown of the murder of Renee Nicole Good.
This is clearly murder. Period.
But as we’ve said for a generation, in America an officer just has to say “I feared for my life” to get away with murder.
