@MurrayHillGuy1 Been following you for quite some time. You’re an inspiration.
Just writing about the niches I’m passionate about and letting time do its trick.
we remember aristotle as the father of logic. his actual physics was a dead end.
aristotle was the greek philosopher whose science europe treated as gospel for two thousand years. koestler calls that science "a pseudo-science, out of which not a single discovery, invention or new insight has come in two thousand years."
it was sterile: a system where the natural state of everything was to sit still.
and it was hard to abandon, because the medieval theologian thomas aquinas had built his famous proof of god's existence on top of it. the theology needed the physics to stay standing.
two thousand years of prestige, resting on a dead end.

Sad to this. New growth opportunites are rampant in NYC.
Commerce keeps us all safe. Because it makes the world a positive sum game and all of us inter dependent on each other.
escher's mosaic ii (1957). the whole plane is packed edge to edge with black creatures, birds, fish, devils, hands. look again and the white gaps between them are creatures too. nothing is blank. every shape you did not draw got drawn anyway, the moment you drew its neighbour.
this is figure and ground. the background is not leftover space, it is a second picture with its own contents.
most choices have a hidden second picture like this. the customers you decided to serve trace the exact outline of the ones you left to someone else. what you leave out has edges too, and someone is living inside them.
