I was making $46k at my first job after graduating in 2021. After taxes and deductions it was around a lil over $2800/month (+ OT). I have no idea how one would survive in that salary in today’s economy.
rent is $1,900 a month now.
your paycheck needs to cover triple that just to survive.
show me the 22 year old making $65k straight out of uni.
ill wait.
So I went on a date.
The guy says: I don’t want anything serious.
I say: no worries, I’m not considering you as a serious option either.
And you know what?
He got offended.
him saying this as if marinette didn't celebrate her 14th bday in season 2, kagami's blood type isnt O, marinette n kagami's chinese zodiacs aren't dragon and snake..
I don’t disagree with this, but the “everything will be fine”. No one likes leaving their home, friends and family and it’s hard to adjust to a new environment, especially one with different laws, climate, culture, etc. Us immigrants talk about it all the time.
@omgsidewalks If you can’t afford the city in which you live, maybe move to a city or town in America that’s cheap and need some love. Buy an inexpensive home, improve your neighborhood and love your neighbor as you love yourself. Everything will be fine.
