Apparently up is down. After ICE killed 2 people in a week, some Republicans are trying to somehow pretend that Democrats rejected basic reforms.

That is preposterous. Senate Republicans shot down ICE reforms at every stage, including—at the tail end of talks—when they chose to go their own way instead of enacting even a handful of basic reforms the WH had agreed to.

Whoops! Earlier this week, while running down the stairs in a rush, I tripped and ended up breaking my ankle—I wouldn’t recommend it. 🙃

Next week, I’ll be back at the Capitol for votes and hearings and doing everything else I can to be a voice for Washington state in the Senate—I’ll just be swapping one of my tennis shoes for an ankle brace for a bit.
