Today we had two @LinslyAlumni speakers come to classes to speak to students about their life/career! JJ Newell ‘05 spoke to Comparative Government students about the government and life in Zambia. Matt Miller ‘04 spoke to 7th/8th grade about his career as Director of Radiology.
The prefects are offering SAT prep sessions and today’s first meeting had a nice turnout! One group focused on math while the other focused on English.
9th grade students participated in a “Book Tasting” session today during A-block, to sample various genres of books our library has to offer. Their previous sessions this quarter have focused on goal-setting and starting their college resume, so today was a nice brain break! 📖
It was a special day for our middle school athletes. We claimed BMC Championships in both Boys and Girls, both 7th & 8th Grade Basketball! All in one day. Great job everyone!
Our Contemporary Issues class recently took a field trip to learn about Bethany’s eSports facilities and curriculum. This field work came after course work and discussions on this growing industry. Thanks to @Bethany_College’s eSports team and coach for hosting us!
Seniors met with @LinslyAlumni Col. Stuart James ‘88, whose talk on Applied Leadership began by sharing his academic and athletic experience at Linsly + the values he learned. A decorated army veteran, he shared how Leadership presented itself in various ways in his career+life.
9th grade had an Academic Success session this week during A-block. First, they learned how to study effectively from neuroscientist Jared Cooney Horvath via video. Then, they heard from current junior prefects who offered them advice about studying, academics, and college prep!
German 1 students played a
game called “ja oder nein” to practice vocabulary about their favorite activities and restaurants. The game kept them moving to help with the crisp fall weather!

guest speakers: student life in college from @wjcollege, scholarship opportunities with CFOV, interview practice, and advice on athletic recruitment from a current D2 NCAA coach.
