That’s why most people I-20 it’s written D/S. School has been a way most people use to keep their status. They keep on applying and getting new I-20 that keeps them in status. Don’t post fake information to mislead people. If you go home as f student, nobody is giving you a renewal.

@Kojo_TN You don’t return to your home country to reapply or renew your f1 status. I have friends here going back to school. All you need is to get admission and the university will give you a new I-20 that has the duration of your study.
