day 1 of building snips in public 🟢
I built an app because I have thousands of photos on my phone and somehow still can’t find the moments I care about.
the idea became snips:
choose one photo every day.
miss a day? it stays empty.
choose one? that’s your Snip. forever.
over time, those moments become the story of your year.
private by default. just for you, or the friends you choose.
snips is already live (160+ users), but I’ve barely shared the process of building it.
so starting today :)

ChatGPT Images 2.5—faster, sharper, smarter, with better tools for creating whatever you can dream of.
- Faster image generation to keep your ideas flowing
- Improved fidelity for more natural, recognizable images
- Consistent details across multiple edits
- Comment-based edits to change only what you want
Did you know you can play Snake in ChatGPT (GPT-6 Astra) while it generates your image?
Here you can see me playing for 6 whole minutes… only for it to fail to generate the image at the end 😅
Adding the result from my second try :)

day 4 of building in public https://t.co/000VxcSdf8 🟢
198 users.
almost 200 :)
today’s problem: app reviews.
I set the review prompt to appear only after a happy moment, and only after someone has used snips for a few days.
felt more respectful than asking right away.
but so far… basically nothing.
I keep seeing other apps ask almost immediately.
I always thought that was way too soon.
but maybe “too soon” actually works better?
curious how other builders handle this:
when do you ask users for an App Store review?
after a happy moment?
after a few days?
or just ask early? :)
Take a look at Lior's product snips. It let's you build a photographic snapshot diary of your life. Very cool. Follow me on there if you like: https://t.co/a3mmFAzYpe
@jonathan_wilke Can't afford it. 😢
But if you want to give it a try.. I am building https://t.co/U8al6Si9kI a daily private photo journal. Without the Instagram stress ☺️
