@tmnxeq ngl i see this happening less and less, but again if equities really shit the bed it can get very ugly, otherwise maybe we get low 70s at most if we transpose 2023 bull market start
@turintrader@______BIL______@domenicola85491 >Its QE infinity till something breaks
you could be a cornmaxxer on the side, even though I gather you don't consider it your domain of predilection
@tmnxeq As far as metrics goes I dunno, I think export metrics could potentially show better what is produced of value that an "outsider" would be willing to pay for, but again there are caveats, just like for GDP
@tmnxeq Sure but if an entity uses capital for smth which is supposed to produce value afterwards and it doesn't, GDP goes up at first and down afterwards; if you extrapolate this to national or supranational policies you can get surprises that take years/decades to form
@tmnxeq >even if I were to accept this premise
I'm not saying every person does that, just that the average person might have this reasoning while also not being financially savvy enough to look up where to park their cash, but indeed there are banks in which you get the ECB depo rate
@tmnxeq In most of europe (I assume) the pension when you stop working is substantial (relatively) and is paid by the state, so the average person would consider only saving into very safe/convenient assets (bank depo + house) until the pension starts getting paid
