@WF_writerEM Yup. We tell young people they won’t amount to anything without a college education (a lie), then tell them they can afford college with massive loans they’ll be able to pay back with their great jobs (another giant lie).
@WF_writerEM I have a feeling it already is. Before two weeks ago I didn’t know anyone personally who’d had Covid and now 4 members of my family have had it in the last couple of weeks, including my parents who have been extremely cautious and careful.
It’s been a while since I actually worked on my current WIP. Hoping to get some words down this weekend, barring extreme exhaustion or newborn crankiness. #WritingCommunity mamas, what are your tips for writing with a newborn around?
@WF_writerEM I had 2 miscarriages last year. Just gave birth to a healthy, beautiful boy last week. It still feels like something we don’t talk enough about. My current manuscript deals with miscarriages and the issues not talking about them has on women.
@StephenRoth316 I just launched a course for writers to help them prioritize writing and develop a plan to improve their skills. I also offer 1:1 coaching for writers! https://t.co/wK7AdOKYoN
@LindsayMarcott I write women's fiction, but I hate the name for this genre. It's marginalizing and degrading to a genre of writing that can be extremely rich and rewarding and covers a vast variety of topics. I guess we're just supposed to assume everything is "for the men?" 🙄
@Becci_Amyy I’d be willing to be you’re not as bad as you think you are. But if you enjoy writing and it gives you joy, why quit? Keep writing, keep seeking out ways to improve, and you’ll get there. And most importantly, you’ll be doing something you love.
@joedayvie There’s no reason to feel guilty. I bet you likely feel more disappointed because you didn’t meet some goal or expectation you had for yourself. But we’re all human and things come up that interfere with our attention. Allow yourself some grace and just start writing again!
