Want an example of a broken system? Florida DIDN’T “reject” the proposal to include a right to abortion in the constitution — they voted 58.2% in favor of abortion rights. But it needed 60% to pass, so it failed WITH A MAJORITY.
Can’t imagine what Florida women must be thinking.
Just a reminder, none of North Carolina's big suburban counties have reported anything yet. We're in the middle of the "red mirage" stage of the night. Pour yourselves a drink, people.
@WajahatAli Here’s the thing about FL: During the pandemic, Americans MOVED! And the folks who moved to FL were attracted, not repelled, by ivermectin and DeSantis and Maralago. It has gotten significantly redder.
RESULT: Pamela Goodwine wins Kentucky's supreme court race.
Goodwine was the candidate backed by Dems in this nonpartisan race; she defeats the candidate backed by conservatives. (This was not statewide.)
Retiring justice was conservative, so this takes the court a step left.
Thread on what to expect when first NV numbers pop up tonight -- this is important because of what I think will happen:
Clark County will NOT tabulate tens of thousands of mail ballots dropped off today until tomorrow. So I expect Trump to be ahead tonight. But by how much?

June: DMR poll has Trump +18 vs. Biden in Iowa
July 29: Iowa’s six-week abortion ban goes into effect with intense controversy and news coverage
September 22: DMR poll shows 59-37% opposition to new abortion law — 69% among women. Also shows Trump lead over Harris at just 47-43%
All fall: Saturation ad spending and campaigning on abortion by Dem candidates in the state’s two toss-up House races
Now: Final DMR poll has massive gen der gap pushing Harris into 47-44% lead
Just knocked a door in an upscale suburb of Savannah, GA. The white guy behind the door wanted us to know, “I’m as conservative as they come. I volunteered for Goldwater when I was in high school. I proudly voted for Kamala Harris & my country, not this vile cult of personality.”
It's interesting that every left-leaning opinion columnist (myself included) is currently laser-focused on the danger of a Trump future. That's the moral obligation, a duty to warn, but it's creating a vibe that Trump has won even as in daily reality Harris is showing momentum
Abortion bans kill another woman. On the day of her baby shower, Nevaeh Crain went to the ER bleeding & feverish. She was diagnosed with sepsis, a deadly infection - but her fetus still had a heart beat. She was sent home. After her 3rd ER visit, she died.
