Maly Socheata, spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, said that the Thai forces continued their attacks on Cambodia on July 27, firing shells into the country from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. This took place a few hours after U.S. President Donald Trump called to appeal for a ceasefire, and Thailand agreed in principle to a truce.

Thailand is using information manipulation warfare strategies to fabricate pretexts for its armed aggression of Cambodian territory, while falsely portraying itself as the victim
We would like to inform our fellow Cambodian citizens that the Thai media has colluded with the Thai government and military to fabricate and disseminate fake news aimed at demonizing Cambodia, in order to create a pretext for their own armed invasion and violation of Cambodia’s territorial integrity.
Both the Thai government, its military, and media outlets have employed deceptive tactics to provoke incidents according to their premeditated invasion plans. The Thai military’s armed incursion was carefully planned and prepared long in advance. The blueprint of Thailand’s military aggression is clear, beginning with a pre-emptive attack on Cambodian forces, followed by shamelessly placing all blame on Cambodia without any sense of remorse or accountability.
Cambodia tells the truth — Thailand lies to the world. Cambodia has no interest in invading Thailand.
The facts are indisputable: it was Thailand that launched the first wave of brutal attacks against Cambodian territory. On 27 July 2025, at 02:00, Thai forces shelled Veal Intry location; by 02:30, they expanded the bombardment to Ta Thao, Phnom 333, and Phnom Khmouch; and at 04:50, additional shelling struck Tamone Thom and Ta Krabey. At 06:00, Thai ground troops invaded Phnom Khmouch, An Ses, and Veal Intry location, followed by a large-scale incursion at 06:30 involving tanks and ground troops into multiple areas, including Veal Intry, 5 Makara, Phnom Khmouch, and An Ses.
On the morning of July 27, 2025, invading Thai forces continued their deliberate assault on the sacred Preah Vihear Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that the international community has a duty to safeguard. The Thai military launched a fresh armed incursion, deploying heavy artillery and firing directly at the temple complex, resulting in extensive and irreparable damage to multiple sections. We categorically and unequivocally condemn this blatant act of cultural vandalism and military aggression.

@Karanvisible Cambodia rejects the distorted information from the Thai aggressor side, claiming that Cambodia fired a BM-21 rocket into the Ta Moan temple area. Cambodia has no reason to fire a BM-21 to destroy a temple belonging to our Khmer ancestors and within Cambodia’s sovereign territory
The Ministry of National Defense has denied a Thai report alleging that Cambodia fired a BM-21 rocket at the Ta Moan Thom temple. Spokesperson Maly Socheata stated that the temple is located within Cambodian territory in Oddar Meanchey province and only Thailand has shown ill-intention.
@ThaiEnquirer They are running from your bomb and strike, we care about our people not thai itself they use their people to getting hurt for creating the fake news and blackmail cambodia #ThailandInvadedCambodia
Thailand’s armed aggression has now expanded beyond the disputed border zones, reaching Pursat province in western Cambodia, government officials confirmed early July 26, calling it a clear act of war and a violation of international law.
