Tourette’s is involuntary. A tic is a neurological misfire, not a choice, not a statement, not something you can “read the room” and switch off. It affects people from every background and every walk of life. It does not discriminate and it does not care about context.
If anyone wants to understand what that really means, please take five minutes to learn from the people who live it every day. Visit Tourette Scotland and educate yourself.

Considering the last week, a room full of millionaires mocking a working class caretaker with Tourette’s is not a good look. It is not brave. It is not edgy. It is punching down at a disabled man who cannot control his neurological condition. After everything he has endured, that is not comedy. It is cruelty dressed up as it.
My dad is still missing, could everyone please share. We just want to know he is ok 🙏🏼
Thank you so much to everyone for the overwhelming support but sadly we still have no news of his whereabouts.
It’s not a great photo but my big brother, John Gilchrist, has gone missing in West Lothian. He walked out of St John’s hospital on Wednesday & hasn’t been seen since. If anyone hears anything or spots him, please message me.
This afternoon I signed signed the tenancy agreement for a 2 bedroom mid-market flat in our area.
A bittersweet moment, but we won 💪!
It shouldn’t have to take a BBC radio & STV news interview or a tweet to go viral for people to be treated with compassion and given support.
My son Isaac; diagnosed autistic at 21 months. Told he would never talk properly, then he’d never cope in mainstream then never get GCSEs, certainly not anything higher. But he proved them wrong and here he is holding his 2:1 degree certificate in accountancy and finance👏🏼
