Lil check in: I didn’t win this one but I do now have an Emmy win, another regional nomination, a national nomination, and other awards that aren’t in my bio because bragging about winning a trophy for spotlighting the worst day of someone’s life is really weird.
Bragging about awards as a journalist will always feel a bit icky, but I can’t get over how cool it is that my station has two newscasts nominated in the same category - up against the Twin Cities market.
The anxiety of money I spent on the emergency vet bill pales in comparison to the anxiety I feel not having him at home for two days and worrying he’ll think I abandoned him. 🥺
all I ask is to not retweet unfounded rumors about the victims in Perry - there’s lots of really bad info out there and please remember that there are 400-500 families who may not know what’s going on, and that just spreads panic
I think my stress at work could be lowered significantly if people would just TELL ME when I make a mistake versus calling me out in front of my entire department. 🙃
I remember Camelbaks being the thing and my family not being able to pay that much for a water bottle. I bought one the first time I had my own disposable income. I still own it and use it. Water bottles can be a socioeconomic indicator, strangely enough.
