Thank you to the Hastings Tribune for this great article on my latest venture! Writing this book has been a journey and an incredible learning experience. I hope it can raise awareness and make a difference! https://t.co/i2RZGVOGHm
@mybridgeradio Can you please replay the tribute message about Johnathan Jacobsen. His sister, Bobbi Pettit, is traveling and lost reception right when you said it. Would really appreciate it!
@LeaderStance Being culturally aware is so important. I think doing the necessary due diligence to understand other cultures leads to less micro-aggressive behavior for members of a team and ensures cohesiveness and effectiveness.
@LeaderStance Healthy conflict can be good and often it is the path to a win-win situation. We have to view the compromise or synergy as a value-add to difficult situations. “Conflict is simply the gap between what we want and what we are experiencing.” Great quote from a SHRM article:
@LeaderStance We named our team “2 Legit 2 Quit.” Two reasons... first, we were Group 2, so it seemed much more exciting and second, two of the five of us are a bit older than the rest and may or may not have an affection for the pop culture and bad dance moves of the early 90’s.
@LeaderStance I have been exploring the work of neuroscientist Dr. Tara Swart and her new book, The Source. Has anyone read her previous book, Neuroscience for Leadership? https://t.co/WAo4DqPekT
@AlyssaEnger@LeaderStance I agree. This is a great approach not just in classrooms, but the workplace. It is similar to Carrie’s strategy and it creates commitment verses just compliance.
@LeaderStance Having each person identify a goal, then exchange w/ each other. Drawing from a hat works well. The student who draws (SA) must then meet with the student who set the goal (SB) to learn why the goal is important to SB. Then SA advocates on behalf SB. Creates relationships...
@LeaderStance The norming stage is very critical to success, but all stages are necessary. The storming stage is where the members of a team begin to establish an understanding of one another and what to expect. It is also where the elements of trust and respect begin to form. #ALEC833
@LeaderStance Agreed, and want to add KINDNESS that allows for that feeling of mutual respect. Without this, barriers exist and defense mechanisms engage... this can slow progress and hamper creativity. #ALEC833
@LeaderStance I am eager to learn more about how we can use appreciative inquiry within teams and groups to move forward toward goals vs allowing negative elements to weigh down progress. I also want to more know about how the involvement in groups shape the individual leader.
