The entire discourse around this post is very strange.

No one should be purposely alienated. But a woman wanting to see her parents immediately after birth while simultaneously wanting to wait to see anyone else is not “alienating” anyone. That is just basic recovery from one of the hardest experiences of a woman’s life.

Post birth is a VERY vulnerable time, emotionally and physically, for the majority of women. VERY.

I’m sorry, but the needs & feelings of the mother & baby DO trump anyone else’s immediately after birth.

The husband’s parents should understand that their daughter-in-law needs her mom at that time AND she needs some time before seeing anyone else without taking it personally or feeling jaded.
