It's bonkers that we continue to allow private parking companies to act without proper regulation or oversight.
If you've received an unfair ticket, challenge it. If you feel bullied by a private parking company, contact it's trade association.

More than 35,000 parking tickets are being issued by private companies every day in the UK, RAC figures show.
@simonvigar5 reports from Brighton - a city that issues more fines than almost anywhere else in the country.
This is huge news from @WhichUK. Hard hitting journalism at its finest.
I just don't know how to feel about this result though. Has Colin been lying to me all along? Who can I even trust anymore?!

@ce_maughan I'm actually two weeks into a claim for ANOTHER GWR train where I was forced to stand for 90 mins despite reserving a seat. Always worth a try. Interestingly, they wanted a lot of my personal data in order to consider my claim 🤔
I'm on a GWR train. Ticket cost £125. It's so busy that we're standing in vestibules and aisles. I'm perched in a bike rack. I asked @GWRHelp if I could sit in one of the many free seats in 1st. Told no. If I wanted a seat I could wait for the next train. Which is cancelled.
My consumer + travel rights chums might enjoy a laugh at this one. Even those of us who are meant to know HOW to enforce our rights find ourselves shafted by the "computer says no" approach to customer service sometimes 🤣
