This is Alex (@BowersWrites) temporarily borrowing Annie's account to say that mine has been hacked. I've reported it to Twitter, but thus far, they have refused to act. For now, I will ask everyone to share this post widely, and know that any activity on BowersWrites ISN'T ME!
Happy Canada Day! 🇨🇦
With millions of Canadians with Scottish roots, the bond between Scotland and Canada remains as strong as ever.
Wishing a wonderful Canada Day to all Canadians at home and around the world!
I wish Canada, Prime Minister @MarkJCarney, and all Canadians a Happy Canada Day. Ukraine joins you in celebrating this day. We appreciate Canada’s leadership in helping us protect the lives of our people across many domains: defense assistance, pioneering work on sanctions against Russia’s shadow fleet and financial sector, diplomatic advocacy, and much more. We are grateful that we can count on your continued support in all these areas. Thank you, Canada!
Michelle Obama on the portrait with Obama.
Q: You are in the foreground. You are not in the background.
Michelle: That's because I married a man who isn't threatened by having a smart challenging partner. And that's another way to be a man. To lead and co-lead at the same time. That's a testament to the way my husband was raised and how he sees the world.
This week someone targeted my family for harm with a false report. We’re physically OK, but that doesn’t mean we weren’t harmed. I am beyond furious.
Whatever your politics, this is awful, wrong, and can never become normal. https://t.co/72wxaVLzVT
Found an imaginary problem, said only they could fix it, didn’t listen to experts, hired buddies who grifted millions, failed miserably, bragged how great it went.
The entire Trump presidency in a nutshell.
Today is the 82nd anniversary of D-Day – the Allied landings in Normandy, which significantly hastened the countdown to the Nazis' collapse in World War II. It is one of the most important moments of unity among the defenders of life in human history, and it was less than a year until the peoples’ aspiration for freedom and the hope of peace prevailed in May 1945. It happened then. We are working to make it happen again today.
And although yesterday in Petersburg another cynical order to continue killing was issued for the army trying to destroy our freedom, history has seen this before. The Nazis also had their own hopes after D-Day. But freedom still wins. And even in the darkest circumstances, people find ways to come together to protect life.
I thank all those who are now helping to protect the values that prevailed in World War II. I thank everyone who is defending life. Glory to Ukraine!
82 years ago, 14,000 Canadians landed on Juno Beach, many of whom would never come home.
On the anniversary of D-Day, we pause to honour those who served and sacrificed. We remember that our rights, our freedoms, and our way of life were fought for and were won by those who answered the call.
