@jangelicaa21 Hi Angelica, I actually chose AOC as my digital leader for the twitter assignment we had a while ago so I definitely agree with your statement! AOC speaks directly to people‘s oppression/issues and communicates herself with empathy. She was once in those positions too.

@MaramFarag Hi Maram! I definitely agree! In my article, I also talked about how social media affects other fields, more specifically the political landscape. Nowadays presidential candidates have to have a marketing team that knows how to use social media like twitter and Facebook.

My core values are open-mindedness, ethics, and empathy. I think digital leaders can show these values by making decisions that include everyone’s thoughts and opinions but weigh an oppressed group’s feelings more heavily. #LIDCS20_03

@vmartinelli_ Vinnie, this was a great choice. I think Deray Mckesson is definitely a digital leader who takes an initiative. I think a good example would be how he tweeted at Bernie Sanders to talk about coming up with a second draft for his racial justice platform. #LIDCS20_03

I think about information differently in that I now know that our information can be sold to others. I have always been cautious about privacy settings but even so, it was interesting to see how much information I could find on sites in class! #DCIM152McCormick

@AlisonSchoen7 I agree with this prediction. I think hashtags have become essential for reaching larger audiences. I have international family that are aware of #MeToo I think the hashtags are seen more on twitter but they may be seen on other social media in the future as well! #DCIM353a

A future prediction for the Smartphone is that it’ll be used as a tool in the workplace. Now, phones are usually prohibited but over time they’ve begun to appear in places we once thought unexpected. A couple years ago I wouldn’t have thought to use my phone for school! #DCIM353a
