Re last RT., I can actually genuinely say that as a shopper I have never seen a shoplifter because I am oblivious. When I worked in shops I just deliberately didn't see them. Though some of the people I didn't see may have benefited from being a smidge sneakier, possibly.

I went to Belfast last year and did a tour with a former IRA insurgent. He said when he was 14, British soldiers shot up his apartment bloc killing someone he knew. He joined the IRA's youth wing after that, then joined the IRA when he was 18. He was vague but said
