If Michael Jackson started his career in 2026…
he wouldn’t be famous.
And that says more about the industry than it does about him.
A thread 🧵🧵
Today, talent isn’t really enough, NO.
Algorithms decide who gets seen.
Not skill and definitely not years of practice.
Just "ATTENTION".
Michael Jackson spent years mastering his craft... singing, dancing, performing, before the world ever called him “GREAT.”
In 2026?
You’re expected to go viral first…
and figure it out later.
Consistency now beats greatness.
Post every day.
Follow trends.
Chase "ENGAGEMENT".
Because if you don’t… you disappear.
Michael Jackson didn’t follow trends, he created them.
But in today’s system, if you don’t fit the algorithm, you don’t get pushed.
Labels used to build artists, now platforms test them.
If your first few posts don’t perform, you’re replaced.
Attention spans are shorter, competition is louder.
Thus real artistry takes time, something the algorithm doesn’t reward.
So no, it’s not that he wouldn’t be talented.
He would be, but the system today… isn’t built for artists like him to rise slowly.
And maybe that’s the real problem why we’re not discovering legends anymore.
We’re just scrolling past them.
