194 male corpses, 215 female, 5 CHILDREN, the sex of the remains of 11 bodies could not be determined.
Tied hands, traces of torture.
This is not from the archives of the crimes of the Nazis of the past, these are the results of the exhumation of bodies from common graves in Izyum after the deoccupation from the Nazis of our time.
Russian Nazis!
A great panel yesterday at #ASEEES24 discussing transformations in Ukraine’s education, media, and law enforcement. Thank you wonderful colleagues Katerina Sirinyok-Dolgaryova, Kseniya Yurtayeva, and Anna Taranenko of @umichWCEE and our discussants Matthew Pauly, Aaron Kennet
Maria Popova brilliantly points out that we were wrong to treat dissolution of USSR as a collapse of communist, which made us blind to the russian imperial project. The liberation lens instead shows us the struggle of the former Soviet states for their freedom from Moscow.
Presidential panel now at #ASEEES24 with @BotakozKassymb1 so importantly arguing that liberation in area studies is painful. For Eastern European (russian or Eurasian) studies it is a painful process of recognizing knowledge coloniality reproducing russian/Soviet imperialism.
Alex Averbuch importantly points out that diversity should reach beyond the established discourse. We need to reach beyond Ukrainians & russians dichotomy. Tatar, Greek, Jewsh and other cultures of Ukraine should be recognized

Are you in Boston area on November 26? Come and join me for a conversation about #internationalization and experiences of Ukrainian displaced #scholars on American campuses, hosted by @BC_CIHE
@rshereme This is a critical issue, unfortunately I see the same problem in academia. My research of experiences of displaced Ukrainian scholars shows clearly that even in research communities critical perspectives coming from Ukrainians are discouraged. Thank you for sharing this thread!

Thrilled to share our latest article with prof. Oleksiyenko on the international student mobility during Russia’s war on Ukraine. Grateful to the Ukrainian State Center for International Education for the provided data for analysis.
Exactly my thoughts when @washingtonpost shares a comment of russian politicians about Ukraine’s efforts to cleanse religious organizations of KGB agents. The Post is uncritical of Russia’s use of church for promoting hate and propaganda. They criticized Ukraine’s resistance.
‘Cultural imperialism lives on, even if its carriers often proclaim anti-colonial slogans.’ My new piece for @AtlanticCouncil with some suggestions to editors, publishers, and curators from us, the 'perpetually frustrated Ukraine specialists'. https://t.co/qTJyn5EC4x 🧵 1/4
6/ Even when it’s not reported on the news, Russia continues its war against Ukraine. Every day Ukrainians sacrifice their lives for freedom from oppression. Not only soldiers but also civilians are everyday victims of the war. Many in the occupied territories suffer every day.
