I���m very happy to share that my short story “The Madman in My Village” has been published in the 24th edition of हाकारा | hākārā.

हाकारा | hākārā is an independent bilingual journal in Marathi and English that brings together creative and critical voices across literature, arts, and culture. This edition is curated around the theme “to return”, and the story traces my return to my own village. It is a story I wish everyone in my village would read. I also remember, with reverence, the madman of our village, Appuettan.

This edition also features works by several other brilliant writers and artists, making it a truly rich and moving collection.

My sincere thanks to Ashutosh Potdar, Purvi Rajpuria, and Pallavi Singh for making this possible.

I just want to put it here. Whenever I bring out a medical fact regarding fraud/uselessness of alternative medicine practices and someone always brings an argument that they've had a positive experience with alternative medicine and that doctors need to have an open mind, it's never a compelling argument.

Using personal experiences or anecdotes to argue against science or fill gaps on the lack of quality evidence only shows that they have the intelligence slightly lower than that of a potted house plant.
