Today… and every day…. If they praise you, SHOW UP and DO THE WORK. If they criticize you, SHOW UP and DO THE WORK. If no one even notices you, just SHOW UP and DO THE WORK. Just keep showing up, doing the work, and leading the way.
Principals shape school culture… as do custodians, secretaries, counselors, teachers, bookkeepers, students, librarians, paraprofessionals, maintenance technicians, SROs, nurses, registrars, etc.
❤️❤️❤️ “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.”

We don’t need our teachers to be the most dynamic, the most innovative, or the most tech savvy. We need them to care about kids… work well with their colleagues… and come to work every day, excited about making a difference.
In a great classroom, the students aren’t the only learners. The TEACHER is a learner also. When teachers are curious, when they are vulnerable, when they continue to grow… they provide stronger instruction, and they provide a great example to their students.
Not all your students come to class wanting to learn… but they all come wanting to belong. And when they feel like they belong… they’re much more likely to learn.
Grit? What is it? I believe it’s driven by love. Inspired by vision and purpose. Fueled by optimism and belief. Powered by faith and hope. Revived by resilience. Kept alive by stubbornness. And if we’re honest includes some fear of failure and desire to prove oneself.
