Pepsi has apologized for this post.
I’m sorry, I’m just not going to buy that Pepsi was posting out rape culture jokes, as some have implied.
The “wild” alongside “stops asking permission clearly implies that their intention was about celebrating rebellion not about encouraging people to not be concerned with consent.
Everyone is saying the obvious reason is that there is a multi-year gap between seasons
But why? Why has television production slowed down so much? Why can't we have efficient production schedules anymore?
VICTORY! A federal appeals court rejected Florida’s “Stop WOKE Act” — a broad ban on what public university faculty may discuss in class — holding it violates the First Amendment.
“Though the government has plenty of ways to promote its own viewpoint, puppeteering every university professor in the state is not one of them. Forcing an official government line—in a college classroom of all places—is exactly the ‘pall of orthodoxy’ the First Amendment will not tolerate.”
@allie__voss I saw it on Friday. It was fine. B movie tier, in the way of "giving not already famous people a chance to write and act". The second to last scene absolutely made me roll my eyes though
no more teenagers online. go outside. no you aren’t allowed anywhere outside either. read a book. no not those books. the good book. get home from school and read your bible. quietly. no interaction outside school and church. we wouldn’t want someone indoctrinating you, would we?
New York City was the first official capital under the U.S. Constitution and it's where George Washington was inaugurated. And a lot of conservatives on this website are tweeting really, really embarrassing shit right now.
This was said about the Irish, Germans, Italians, Nords. But no one nowadays would consider them as different.
If you want to argue about the importation of poor ideas, okay, but otherwise if your only concern is your neighbor's skin color, you're a poor example of an American.
Frustrating that people still propagate this myth.
The average includes infant and child mortality. For those who survived the early years, average life expectancy was 60 to 70. 20 was definitely not considered "middle aged" 😅
I agree with the general suggestion of assigning Frederick Douglass, but the speech of most relevance to law students studying the interpretation of the Constitution and its history (and the one I assign) is “The Constitution of the United States: Is It Pro-Slavery or Anti-Slavery?” Spoiler: Douglass concludes the Original Constitution was Anti-Slavery. I was looking for housing in Tokyo for the Spring, and I can find rentals, in the third largest city in the world, for under $500 a month. Unfortunately, cultural differences make things like this impossible in the US.
Of course everyone is *allowed* to say whatever they want. The point Gervais made was that celebrities are vapid and hypocritical, and spouting off about politics at an event where they were just handed $100k in free swag and a shiny golden award for performances that already earned them several million dollars isn't appealing to many people who would otherwise be willing to buy tickets to see the next thing.
It's pretty amazing that someone can return from an international trip made possible by capitalist production and global trade, and their immediate reaction is "economics is fake"
