GM Bill Armstrong says there’s no hard feelings between them and Hayton or New Jersey at all.
“It’s just business. Players want to get paid, they want to make as much money as they can in their lifetime, we get it. There's no hard feelings between us and New Jersey. We called them and said we’re going to match. There’s no hard feelings between the club and Barrett Hayden…We have really good relationships with the players, the player's agent, and also New Jersey. There's no hard feelings. It's just doing business, and it's a part of the NHL, it's a part of the CBA. We have to respect the process.”

Dear World,
Please, never forget these past 26 days we spent together just watching matches and talking ball before the world's most hated man figured out a way to make the World Cup all about himself. I am so sorry.
Sincerely,
Just a regular American.
@rollingdux@seanmartin23 The Ducks released their $ number, but not term. That can be a sticking point for young players. The OS is 5 years which drops him right into Free Agency, no extra years for PHI. Did Anaheim offer less years with more money? More term less money? We don’t have the full picture.
@omgitsrenegade@rollingdux We don’t even know the full story on the negotiations leading up to the OS. Numbers have been released, but not term. There is SO MUCH more to this than the $.
@rollingdux Burke always said Penner wasn’t worth $5 mill a year, and it would inflate the entire market. It did, and Penner was inconsistent and periodically out of shape. He didn’t finish out the contract with the Oilers. That move had always been seen as a bust.
