This school had been operating for years — close to a decade — as a civilian school.

And for those of you suggesting that a school being near a military installation somehow proves “human shields,” elementary schools exist on or next to military bases all over the world, including in the United States, where schools operate directly on U.S. military bases to serve the children of service members.

This rush to immediately engage in atrocity denial — to reflexively deny that a military may have killed civilians — is a cancer.

It creates enormous resentment and prevents people from simply acknowledging human tragedy.

Some of you need to learn how healing it can be to say:
