@JosiahHawthorne Your summary of the speakers aligns well with what I called a “crisis of dogma” I experienced during college. The conservative politics I was raised with didn’t actually match the faith I practiced and the loving God I worshipped, so my politics had to change to be more loving.

@aliciaandrz I was a math major who took extra lit classes when I had fo fill in my schedule one year during college. I aced the GRE verbal. I’m now an engineer and avid reader. Basically it’s possible to love and pursue both.

@Miss_Grimmer With my first husband my in laws lived 300 miles away, and my family was a couple towns over. We set up a rule that we’d alternate whether they got us for Christmas or New Years, switching each year. It worked out with no hard feelings.

@_celia_bedelia_ No but apparently standing up for trans and non-binary youth is bad as far as MAGA is concerned, because they’re sure mad that he put menstrual products in the boys bathrooms too. As he says, mind your own damn business. Some people who use the boys room have periods too.
