for our writers:
the website will remain live until the last week of August 2022. all rights for submitted pieces have reverted to the writers and any pieces may be resubmitted to magazines with guidelines that allow (though we still appreciate your shout out!)
if you have any questions, messaging us on Twitter is the easiest way to reach out, but if you do email us please make reference to our closing/indefinite hiatus in the subject line so we don't miss it.
we want to thank you all for 5 amazing years as a magazine. you've help our team grow in countless ways and we will truly never forget this experience.
hey littledeath lovelies.
over the last few months our team has been discussing the future of the magazine and our roles within it and it is with heavy hearts that we must announce an indefinite hiatus for LDL.
we aren't saying this is certainly goodbye forever, but we cannot be sure exactly what the future will hold. but we know this community is strong and vibrant and will continue to support as we are able!
hey guys! as a reminder, we are on hiatus and do not have a concrete date for our next submission cycle at this time. please note that we generally do not respond to submissions received this far out of a cycle! thanks all 🖤
there was an issue with two of the pieces for this issue ("Descent" by Nick Young and "Heritage" by Nare Ayvazyan) uploading improperly to our issue seven landing page but the error should now be resolved!
we will likely be taking a break after publication to get our affairs in order and determine how to prevent significant delays like this occurring for future issues. we love you all and hope everything is well 🖤
(hopefully) final update before issue 7 publication:
hello again dear readers and writers! we're so sorry for the radio silence on this issue. time has a way of slipping through your fingers. we come bearing news.
again, we want to thank all of you for your patience and understanding. delays are always incredibly frustrating and we are working as diligently as we're able, but as ever, the team's health and well-being must come first.
today’s treat from the archives: @brandon_sward’s essay from our Spring 2021 issue
“During these years I was healthy, my biggest problems banal, like allergies and wisdom teeth. But even then, I held a ticking bomb.”

Lastly, thanks @littledeathlit@cephalopress & @DrunkMonkeysWeb for accepting my fiction. Unsure if they’ll all run by the end of 2021, but you’re all still part of my phenomenal writing year.
today from the archives: @alanaseenah’s ‘Did You Check Under the Window?’
“Grief permeates and settles wherever skin is exposed, but in the case of the eldery yet endearing farmhouse, it settles like a clear coat.”

unfortunately, with how many submissions we get each cycle, we cannot promise that submissions made outside of the window will always receive a response. thank you all for understanding!
as an important note!! we have been receiving a good deal of submissions to our email outside of the submission window.
please be advised that our website and Twitter are the official sources to see when our submissions are opened or closed.
