You have heart disease. Or diabetes. High blood pressure. A thyroid disorder. Asthma. Every day without your medication increases the risk that your condition will spiral into an emergency.

In Gaza, this isn't a hypothetical fear. It is the reality thousands of people live with every month. The fear of the unknown, the uncertainly about how they will manage their conditions without care.

On July 15, The Sameer Project’s Chronic Disease Medical Campaign traveled to Ahmed Shawky Shelter Center in Khan Younis, where our medical team cared for around 45 patients, providing consultations, examinations, and the medications they depend on to survive.

Our doctors and nurses overseeing the Medical Days travel directly to underserved displacement camps, bringing life-sustaining medications to patients who otherwise have no access to healthcare. We don't just see them once, we return month after month.

Each mobile Medical Day in this campaign costs approximately $1,500 to operate. That covers the medical team, transportation, logistics, and the medications that quite literally keep people alive.

But donations are falling.

What are we supposed to tell the patients who wait for us every month? Their treatment is no longer available because funding has run out?

No one should have to fear that a treatable chronic illness will become a death sentence.
