So, the AB government offered to pay $150/week to parents of kids 12 and under (during teacher strike). Online stats state there are around 436,000 kids in AB 12 and under.
$150 x 436,000= $65.4 million per WEEK.
Seems like a lot to pay to try and break the ATA and further weaken public education.

@kris_sims Those numbers she quoted were incorrect. She wasn’t comparing Alberta salaries with the latest collective agreements. It’s more than wages. It’s class composition, always doing more with less and less each year. I encourage you to go spend a half day in a classroom this week.
