The provincial government has refused to address the most urgent challenges in Saskatchewan classrooms, such as class size, complexity and violence. They have left us with no other option. The clock is ticking. 🕔
In my clinical role, I’ve been in some downright painful school meetings recently where I can see we are asking teachers and administrators to squeeze blood from a stone. There are simply no appropriate resources for so many struggling students.
Do you know what teachers do? Sometimes we wake up early on Saturdays for no reason. We starting thinking about school. So, we get up and start prepping and marking. #whatteachersdo @ Regina, Saskatchewan https://t.co/aX4yhBILey
Watch this. She hears her name & turns to because she is open to engaging with people. He becomes abusive & she heads into the elevator. And in that moment - *I’m* feeling a knot in my stomach worried he follows. Physical intimidation is not a form of Democratic expression.
This piece is exactly bang on. I don’t know which is more embarrassing: the actions of our petulant provincial government or how easy it is for them to stoke their supporters into a frothy rage to distract from their actual governing failures.

By 4pm today Pasqua Hospital will lose even more nurses & be down by almost 60%. Currently 18 patients are waiting for beds upstairs & the educator & supervisor are trying to help out on the floor. Nurses are burnt out.
“Today is one of the worst days - so scary” #skpoli
Nurses at Pasqua Hospital informed us they’re down by over 50% nurse staffing today! & the ER is “FULL with basically all needing hospital admission”
This is dangerous, unsustainable, & a reality the public needs to know about. #skpoli#yqr#Sask healthcare is in crisis.
Looking forward to celebrating Giving Day on Saturday, October 8th, 2022.
Please mark your calendars and start collecting gloves, hand warmers, toiletries and items of care for our neighbours in need.

Joyful moments with @brittlestar made good news.

Every hospital unit is overcapacity and I have never seen our emergency departments this busy. Patients are being resuscitated in what used to be closet space. What happens after we’ve triple loaded every hallway and waiting room ‘bed’?
Yesterday, I received a special ask. That was from a Ukrainian for their country. I believe joy & hope have healing power. They keep you stay grounded in the toughest moments. With the traditional folk music of Punjab, today’s joy and hope dedication is for the people of Ukraine.
The protests in Russia from brave citizens there, risking true life and liberty to voice their opposition to Putin’s war with Ukraine, make the “convoys” protest in North America over “freedum” seem truly ludicrous.
It's time to tell some hard truths about what is happening to our country and to our democracy. We can't afford to be complacent any longer.
