A compelling graphic look at all the ways that Trump and his family and friends have been monetizing the White House in his second term to enrich themselves more than any presidential clan has ever done before. @LazaroGamio@amyswalk

Amid whitewashing of history of Capitol siege, new transcript of House interview w/ Jack Smith highlights police injuries:
"Cracked ribs, traumatic brain injuries, smashed spinal disks & heart attacks as rioters used bats, poles, chemical sprays, stolen police shields & batons"
‼️Another great Post scoop: The Kennedy Center changed board rules months before vote to add Trump’s name. New rules say only trustees appointed by the president can vote, barring others, including seats held by Democrats, @janaykingsberry@ables_kelsey https://t.co/zAKygED5vY
I'm confused how this isn't the biggest story in the world right now. Trump has launched a regime change war in Venezuela. He and @marcorubio are lying and pretending its about fentanyl, but it's really about oil. We've seen this movie before and it ends badly.
The fact that Trump’s DOJ was covering up the Epstein files and tracking the journalists reporting on them, should tell you everything you need to know about who they are protecting.
You don’t hate the current SCOTUS enough. Rolling back voting rights, abortion rights, legalizing gerrymandering and public corruption on a scale we haven’t seen in generations. Court reform must happen in a future administration if we get through this period.
Trump's friends-and-family approach to clemency has spawned a pardon-shopping industry where lobbyists say their going rate is $1 million and some have been offered success fees of as much as $6 million, report @rebeccaballhaus@jdawsey1@cryanbarber https://t.co/ufu99gVgUW
Axios has learned the White House has begun managing the DOJ's account on X to respond to posts highlighting mentions of Trump in the Epstein files.
In typical administrations, there is a wall between the White House and what is supposed to be an independent Justice Department. https://t.co/2onhnRsx5T
None of this is remotely fucking normal. This is truly the beginning of an establishment of a fascist state-approved media in the United States. Pay fucking attention. Boycott the fuck out of @CBS. Cancel @paramountplus immediately.
The Trump admin illegally deported a US citizen, who was born in Maryland, and has no criminal record, despite a court order forbidding it. Return her immediately.
NEW: Investigators described finding a photo of Trump and Ghislaine Maxwell on Steve Bannon's phone during the "We Build the Wall" investigation.
This and other details from the latest Epstein Files release, w @eorden@joshgerstein

“He raped me.”
“Donald J Trump had raped her along with Jeffrey Epstein.”
“She was found with her head ‘blown off’… there was no way it was a suicide.”
Now we’re starting to see why Trump was hiding the Epstein files, and it probably gets much worse.
Thank you for posting this. Every decent American must watch it as appalling as it is. Don't close your eyes to this clip or to the fact that trump does not want We the People to see it, not because he wants to protect our sensitive souls, but because he knows it's unabashedly brutal and horribly wrong. Our First Amendment is at stake. Fight for it. @Lawrence@maddow
ICE is literally locking courtrooms to hold secret hearings.
They don’t want you to see what they’re doing inside.
Minnesota’s immigration courts are shutting out the public in alarming ways. Courtrooms are locked, names are redacted from daily dockets, reporters are being expelled and having their phones searched.
Government watchdogs are turned away at the door.
Over 400 people detained this month are having their fates decided in secret – who stays, who gets deported, all without public scrutiny.
This violates long-standing rules that immigration hearings should be “generally open to the public.” Court staff claim it’s about safety, but longtime observers call it a collective punishment that treats every citizen as a threat.
Open courts are a safeguard against tyranny. When we can’t see how laws are being applied, when we can’t witness whether due process is being upheld, and when judges make life-altering decisions behind closed doors, we cannot have faith justice is being done.
The whole point of public proceedings is accountability. Without transparency, there’s no check on power. Without witnesses, there’s no way to know if justice is being served or trampled.
We deserve to see what’s being done in our name. Are they protecting their safety, or protecting themselves from accountability?
