A week from today (on May 7), the #conclave to elect the next pope will begin. I recently had a vision of #cardinals gathered in the Sistine Chapel. I’m glad that @CatholicUniv is represented
Today is the feast day of my patron #StLawrence, deacon and martyr. Here is my digital sketch of the altar area of St. Lawrence Outside-the-Walls, built over the saint’s remains. #SanLorenzo#SanLorenzoFuoriLeMura
This Holy Week (Wed 4/5 thru Easter Sun 4/9), I invite you to consider making a retreat at @SaintMeinrad. My retreat titled “Taken, Blessed, Broken, and Given” is open to everyone, especially those suffering and in need of the Lord’s healing: https://t.co/WViIXjLOlr
“To retrace in our mind the decisive moments of encounter with [Jesus], to renew our first love, perhaps writing down our love story with the Lord - this would be good for our consecrated life, so that it does not become a time that passes by, but rather a time of encounter.”
On this day in 2019 (4 years ago already!), I attended my first papal Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica. It was a celebration of consecrated life (sisters, brothers, priests in various religious orders). In his homily, Pope Francis reminded us…
Five years ago today I was naturalized as a U.S. citizen. Absolutely unbelievable how quickly time flies! Grateful for all the blessings, yet in all of these, the Scripture passage that keeps coming back to me is Philippians 3:20
And fun fact: A few weeks ago, @MonkSimonOSB and other monks and coworkers attended #SEEK23. While there they collected ~800 prayer request cards. Today we are placing them in front of our shrine and relic of St Meinrad, offering them to the Lord through his intercession
Today here at @SaintMeinrad, we celebrate our patronal feast, the 9th cent. hermit #StMeinrad, “Martyr of Hospitality,” who even though thieves wanted to kill him (thinking he was hiding treasures in his hermitage) still fed them and offered them prayers and kindness
Today we especially pray for @AbtUrban and the monks of our motherhouse, @AbteiEinsiedeln, as well as for our Benedictine #Oblates, who live out our charism of hospitality in the world
