@nswpolice any idea about what the helicopter circling over Campsie is trying to tell us? We can’t understand the loudspeaker and nothing obvious on your social media nearby.
@sgonzalesauthor Median income of authors derived from writing is $2800 in Australia. The top 25% earn an average of $9000. It’s very small overall.

Drought, fire, millions of animals killed, flood, pandemic, no international travel, lockdowns, mass unemployment, housing boom and a mouse plague. To round out the last 18 months, let’s add an out of control spacecraft crashing into us for good measure! 🤦
A cane toad has been found in Caringbah, in the south of Sydney. Night-time searches to check it’s just a solo hitchhiker and not a population establishing. @jodirowley@FrogIDAus@jones_ann
Two lovely 14 year old boys knocked on the front door today with buckets of sponges & a hose in their backpack, offering to wash cars. I said yes - 1st customer of the day, many others said no!
In a sign of the times, they also had a permission slip for me to sign!
Very sad to hear about Mickey’s death. I remember him fondly as we stood in the freezing cold Union Court during student elections with flyers - he was funny, warm and posessed a great mind. He will be missed.
We are deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of our dear friend and colleague, Michael Galluzzo.
Mikey's family has created a Higher Education Scholarship in his honour, to support future young leaders like him. It can be found here: https://t.co/y3yQMi39Iw
@jodirowley Loads more birds in the suburban area than other years - squabbles in trees between sulphur cockatoos, king parrots, eastern & crimson rosellas, honeyeaters and our resident magpies. Have only seen 1 lyrebird and the whipbirds are very quiet.
There are 8-10 Striped Marsh Frogs living in & enjoying our pond this season. 100m from where the summer bushfires’ reached. Sounds like a tennis tournament with ‘thok’ calls from dusk til dawn! Plenty of eggs being laid & tadpoles.

@jodirowley Yes, a little in the areas that weren’t too badly damaged and where water is flowing in a creek. Further out on the plateaus are still barren and little to no regrowth. Heading out there later in the week, so will record anything I hear.
I’m so excited to get this book, @HIAKAI_NZ in September. Modern Māori cuisine with native Aotearoa ingredients.
Pre-ordered already & so looking forward to finally trying some of these dishes when we are allowed back to NZ - both at the restaurant & to access the ingredients.
A day in the life of a WFH dog - morning snooze on the bed, morning sunbath in garden, wait for postman, afternoon snooze in the sun, playtime with her beloved squeaky ball and back to snooze on the fluffy rug. I’m a bit jealous of this old girl.
There is a lady across the road from my WFH desk window who cleans the gutter, footpath and grass verges each morning using a pan & brush. Each day I watch her, I’m feeling more concerned for her sanity. And mine.
@Iron___Lady @LKarakolov Auto - I flew on my birthday in 2006 & the airline must have had an auto flag as they had my birthdate from my passport. Didn’t mention it and there was a mini birthday cake with my meal.
