After China, South Korea is now testing the waters in the Northern Artic. The Arctic route could shave off days and save some in fuel costs - as well as reduce risks from the Red Sea/Suez hotspots.
Sentinel 2 images with coords from yesterday, SAR images would have helped see through the cloud cover, but no overhead pass for the region for yesterday for the GoO. The usual hotspots for STS at anchorages in Khor Fakkan, Fujairah and Shinas - fueled by smaller Aframax sized vessels that are onward bound and with a need to obscure source of crude blend. Iran has been using these anchorage for years to shuttle and move it's oil, if its not on their own tankers which are all OFAC sanctioned. Do note, sometimes when ships are joined at the hip like this can often can also be engine fuel intake, called bunkering which may look like a transfer, so monitoring vessels drafts helps distinguish.

Iran's crude is very much still finding it way to the Asian markets. It's feeders still run STS, across not just the Persian Gulf but to vessels in anchorage in Khor Fakkan and Shinas. It also uses Iraq's Basra terminal to re-route crude. Agents still obscure the certificate of origin on the blend and move it along. Agents operate these opaque operations in Dubai, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Karachi, Bangkok, Istambul and Batumi. These charters run over crypto and hawala. Not only is the US allegedly sending 40 ships out of the Hormuz dark, so is Iran - further the systems in place also help spoof a vessels gps coords on the AIS to make it look a vessel is some place it's not.
Iran and Oman propose temp lane, for passage through the Hormuz after de-mining it. However Trump in a recent Truth social mentioned to already having it de-mined. Interesting times to be a insurer!
Oman and Iran have proposed a framework to resume safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz that includes establishing a joint temporary shipping lane and a project to demine the waterway.

So today crude shipments out of the Gulf of Oman account for about 12mb. 2mb traces back to Basra (dark transit) out of #Hormuz and the remainder from the eastern ports in GoO of Khor Fakkan, Fujairah, Shinas and Muscat. 6 shipments bound east to Asian markets and one to SUMED.

@Rory_Johnston Today saw much less crude move out - only a single VLCC, compared to that past 3 days which had seen double digits in MMbpd and as many as 2-3 VLCCs/day. Also higher than usual vessels moved out on ballast having hung around for days.

Today, much less crude was seen going out the Gulf of #Oman. A single VLCC, two Suezmax and couple of Aframax sailing out laden, about 5mb in all. Pinar Gas (LPG) and Kanas (Bitumen) made it out as well.
