Concerning the words Judaean and Jewish, all lexicons are “jewed” on these words, and they always have been.

Christians have been jewed because from Roman times, they were never properly educated on the internal history of Judaea from 450 BC to 70 AD, so the consequences of the mass conversion of Edomites and other aliens from 160 years before the ministry of Christ had never been considered.

Ἰουδαῖος is a Judaean. When the Greeks first began using the term, the people in Jerusalem and the related people who settled in other towns in the area after the return from Babylon were ethnically descendants of the people of the ancient Kingdom of Judah, so the term had an ethnic meaning.

Ἰουδαϊκῶς is an adverb describing something belonging to a Ἰουδαῖος, which could be a reference to ethnicity, customs, law or religion, depending on the context.

From circa 130 BC to 76 BC all of the Edomites, Canaanites, or at the time, Arabs, and others who lived in the ancient territory of Israel and Judah had been forcibly converted to the laws and customs of the Judaeans, and to Greeks and Romans who knew little or nothing of the differences in ethnicity in Judaea, they were all Judaeans.

But with a high degree of intermarriage between the different ethnic groups of Judaea in the many decades before the ministry of Christ, the word Ἰουδαῖος had little meaning in reference to ethnicity. Josephus records that Edomites (Idumaeans) were the dominant group defending Jerusalem from the Romans, and after 70 AD, their use of Idumaean to describe themselves faded, and they identified as Judaeans. This was described by historians Strabo of Cappadocia and Ptolemy of Ascalon, and also on several occasions in the New Testament.

It should not be hard to see. But too many people keep clouding this issue, on account of Jewish agendas. But even today, jews themselves argue over what is an ethnic jew, count lineage through their mothers, convert proselytes of all nations into full fledged jews. They never cared about their ethnicity, because they were never true children of Judah. The true descendants of Israel followed Christ, as He Himself had said, and lost their identity as Judaeans, having become Christians.

Modern jews are not Israelites, and they never were Israelites. This was literally a historical bait-and-switch.
