@SeanDOlfc He's a physical specialist, when everyone sucks ball, he's the one pressing, sprinting and doing all the huffing and puffing for the team, it's easy to notice and when things are wack and easy to ignore when everyone is balling...
This is a promise Simon is going to regret making.
It’s simply not in this Govt's DNA to do what’s needed. Over the last decade, they’ve built the very web of agencies, task-forces & intermediaries he now claims to want to cut through.
For instance, take "Rethink Ireland", the crown jewel of the bureaucratic NGO State. Created by Government in 2016 as the Social Innovation Fund, it has since received over €56 million in public funding.
Rethink is the NGO mothership. Its own CEO admits "We hold a lot of power". It markets itself as a “philanthropic venture fund,” but strip away the branding and it’s a publicly subsidised conduit... a middle-management layer between the State and the NGOs which the State already finances!
So instead of ministers awarding grants directly, money now flows through Rethink first...adding yet another management structure, extra compliance steps, and its own HR and communications overheads.
Anyone claiming to be serious about cutting red tape would start here. BUT I give it a 0% chance that Simon will do anything ....sure isn't his brother on the board.
Welcome Home. @collision
This is what we wanted to deliver to our fans more than anything. This is a club that should always compete for everything and be right at the top. No excuses. All teams win games but in the end there’s only one champion. That’s what history remembers and this applies to next season as well.
