Before all you conservatives get all angry and say, "You lost half your fan base, that's what you get for going political" Green Day has always been political American Idiot was about Bush for God's sake. This was during 2016 election.
I see a lot of people melting down this morning after Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong changed the “American Idiot” lyrics to “I’m not a part of the MAGA agenda,” during their New Year’s Rockin’ Eve show.
In my opinion Green Day was right about the Bush administration in 2004 when this song was released and they are right again twenty years later. People have the right to express their political opinions through Art. That’s what this is. If you don’t like it, don’t listen to their music.
Dear Republican idiots,
Green Day was always political and anti-Republican. Changing lyrics in one song that was already talking about you being idiots doesn't change that... 🤷♂️
They didn't "go woke". You're all just morons.
