resident evil WAS funny, but I think what a lot of people are missing is A LOT of the humor comes from the main characters reactions to stuff and these aren’t the reactions typical to a video game character but instead the kind of reactions we the players have while playing.

Most video game adaptations fail due to their focus on lore rather than the experience of the game. Every moment of RESIDENT EVIL felt like being dropped into the game. The scramble to stay alive. Embracing the "wtf" of it all. Hands down the best video game movie I've ever seen.
