Been noticing this trend on F1twt. It started with Lando last year, and now Kimi is getting the same treatment. Apparently, whoever leads the Drivers’ Championship is automatically “lucky” in the eyes of the masses.
A few things worth remembering
1. Just because it isn’t Lewis or Max fighting for the championship doesn’t mean the driver leading it is any less deserving of it.
2. Kimi has scored points in every race he’s finished this season, with Baku being the exception. You can acknowledge the role of luck in F1 without reducing an entire season’s performance to it.
3. Since China, Kimi has been matching and beating George Russell on pace, excluding the races where George’s reliability issues came into play. And let’s not pretend George is some average driver. He’s an exceptionally talented driver, and consistently going toe-to-toe with him in only your second F1 season is no small achievement.
The potential stops being hypothetical, and the performances start speaking for themselves

@DeltaData_ VB in Finnish -Cadillac is an new F1 team. Inexperience is one explanatory factor. Within the team, there was a big difference between the cars. My car was sliding more, and I simply couldn't maintain the same pace in the corners. There is no consistency in the parts or the cars.
On here you'd think Norris & Lewis are the most hated/unpopular drivers, but then you go to a race and most of the crowd are in their merch 😂
Just your reminder that the internet is not real life
@brakeboosted I meant in q3 IF ham would had gone through, like pratice 3 showed Hamilton was faster on inter. So wet worked for Charles and inter for Ham.
