Yes it's absolutely true - the human race survived hundreds of thousands of years without vaccines.
They just died at 40 and half the babies never saw their first birthdays but hey, those were the good old days
@RN_Freda@DianaCameron70 I work in GP & we’re pushing back on all prescribing requests from hospitals & consultants because of budget unless a shared care agreement is in place. We won’t even do hospital bloods as it’s the practice that then fund these & must follow them up.
Meet R. A 🧵
R became a mature student after 10 years in neuro. She graduated as an RN in September and spent 4 months+ desperately job-hunting. After 8 interviews and 7 rejections—all saying that she did well but lacked experience—she finally has a job, but at a cost. 1/4
I recently paid my painter £30 per hour.
He did a good job - better than I could have.
It then dawned on me that he earns more than the vast majority of healthcare and education staff.
Quite something, how little we value those that look after our lives and our kids’ futures?
Today, I finished the first week of my final placement as a student nurse. This one, along with my most recent one are the only placements I’ve had where I’m not just known as ‘the student’. Where I’m called by my first name. Where I’m included and expected. Where I’m listened to, taught, and respected. Where I’m encouraged to learn at every opportunity, and am invited to ask questions. Where I’ve not been made to feel inadequate, or a nuisance. Where I’m excited about going in every day. It’s taken getting to the end of my degree to feel valued as part of the team.
This is how it should have been from the start. This is all I wanted from my training. This is what all students deserve. This is what I will give every student that I am ever fortunate enough to work with.
I’m excited for the rest of my career, thanks to these two amazing teams. Positivity, teamwork, and a supportive culture really do make all the difference.

There's a big difference between "speaking up" & "calling out". This is so relevant in the context of building psychological safety & addressing issues & concerns within teams. ‘Speak up’ cultures enable people to get under the surface of issues; to feel & be heard. ‘Call out’ cultures shut down open & honest communication, breeding fear & discontent. When things go wrong, there's often a knee jerk reaction towards fault finding. Stepping back from this & instead focusing on finding solutions supports growth & development of people & systems.

The reason you can't get a house, is because the Government doesn't build them.
The reason you can't get in a hospital because the Government doesn't fund it.
And your job doesn't pay because the Government doesn't make them pay.
Nothing to do with immigration.
