As far as my 5 years in law school is concerned the government has no authority to interrupt judicial proceeding and grant pardon before someone is actually sentenced. Do we even know the magnitude of what we are forgiving them for? This is insane!

@EyeofEthiopia You are right. Pardon can be granted before conviction but not because the PM feels like it. There are conditions to be met for that. The decision lacks due process and proper communication.

Okay let’s say this was a necessary measure for the national dialog and reconciliation process, but was the HPR involved in this decision? and if they were why wasn’t the public informed? Shouldn’t these people publicly show remorse and ask for forgiveness first?
