Mercy Tarus Death Rumors Ignite Suspicion: Roselyn Akombe’s Shadow Over Kenya’s Activist Movement
Unverified rumors are circulating on TikTok claiming that fiery Gen Z activist Mercy Tarus has been found dead in her apartment in the United States, where she had sought asylum. These reports remain unconfirmed and must be treated with caution until verified.
That said, this moment demands we spotlight the demobilizing role of @DrRoselynAkombe - the socialite imposed by Raila Odinga as an IEBC commissioner. She conveniently “fled” to the US, leaving Kenya burning behind her.
Akombe was central to the fundraising networks that enabled conman activist @MoraraKebaso to infiltrate and cripple the 2024 protests, including through his misleading videos on unfinished government projects.
The most striking pattern with Akombe and her peers is their opportunism: when she held real institutional power within the IEBC and had a genuine chance to influence election outcomes, she failed to act decisively. Yet she later rebranded as an activist, pretending to fight for the very changes she could not deliver while in office.
This is reminiscent of David Maraga. As Chief Justice, he had the authority to for instance, strike down repressive legislation like the Cybercrimes Act 2017 - a law now weaponized by Kiganjo (D) minus @DCI_Kenya killer goons and Renson Ingonga’s @ODPP_KE to abduct, extrajudicially kill, and persecute protesters, critics, and dissenters.
Having failed to deliver from that powerful position, Maraga now offers himself as a presidential candidate, promising to finish the job - but only if the public “scratches his back” first.
This transactional, entitled attitude is typical of many NGO-linked operatives who believe the nation owes them power.
If the rumors about Mercy Tarus are true, then Roselyn Akombe and her network deserve serious scrutiny.
Kenya’s struggle requires constant vigilance against infiltrators, opportunists, and recycled political figures who prioritize self-interest over genuine liberation.
We cannot allow rebranded actors to hijack or sabotage the people’s movement.
Do you people remember Mercy Tarus, the GenZ from Uasin Gishu, Eldoret who made headlines in 2023 over the Finland scholarship scam, during June 2024 GenZ revolution?
Well, it turned out that after receiving her compensation, she withdrew from the case as a witness and left the country for greener pastures abroad.
She once championed the slogan ‘Kenya ni Home’ and was vocal about social justice, but her departure left many shocked, as the rest of the victims were left to eat their tomatoes. Indeed, ‘Kenya si Home’ and everyone has a price.
Now, Kenyans are worried about her silence & suspecting that she might have been killed.
The KMTC student who was pushed out of a NICO bus over KSh 50 has really made me think.
There was a time when if someone were stranded, short of fare, hungry, or in trouble, strangers would step in without being asked.
Today, it seems we've become comfortable watching from a distance and moving on.
A bus full of people reportedly watched a student being humiliated over KSh 50. The amount isn't what bothers me. It's how rare simple acts of kindness are becoming.
Some of the most memorable things people have ever done for me came from strangers. We need more of that spirit in society.
Hi friends. I am well now and safely back home. Immigration officers in Amsterdam looked at me and thought I can’t have a genuine passport. They hadn’t even opened it. Held me back for so long apparently “verifying” my passport that I missed my flight. When I told them to check the passport because it has stamps and visas, they said those can be forged too. I have passed through Schiphol airport over 10 times if they had cared to look at the passport and checked my name in the system whatever doubts they had would have been cleared without undue delay and anguish. Anyway, they finished “verifying” long after the plane had left said I should be grateful they are getting me another “free flight” like they had found me stranded without a flight back home. When the “free flight” they got me was 24 hours later, they told me to either wait at the airport or figure out where to spend the next 24 hours. No explanation. No remorse. No apology. I don’t know if it was the anger or anxiety that made it very difficult to breathe or even utter a word and caused me a breakdown.. but it is very unfortunate that in 2026 there are people that still simply look at others and assume they are fraudsters or something. Luckily, good friends came to my rescue and also redeemed the reputation of the Dutch just a bit.. thanks @klup and Marnix🙏 we have already filed a complaint and raised the issue in many fora. I hope that at the very least they never racially profile any other person like that again.

The High Court has ordered Treasury CS John Mbadi and Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi to file responses within 14 days in a petition challenging the recent fuel price hike.
Her husband told a court she was too strong to be a wife. The judge agreed and stripped Wangari Maathai of everything, her family, her job, her home.
She looked around and noticed women walking miles every single day just to collect firewood. So she handed them seeds instead. The government responded with arrests, beatings, and a padlocked office door.
30,000 women trained. 51 million trees planted across Kenya. Nobel Peace Prize in 2004. They handed her destruction. She turned it into an entire forest.
Eugene Mutuku was a final year student at KMTC Yata(Matuu). He was set to graduate this year. As part of the course requirement he was expected to be on attachment these few months.
He had just started his attachment on Tuesday this week at a hospital in Kasarani. That's where he was headed to on Thursday when a matatu conductor threw him from a moving NICCO SACCO bus registration number KDV 713J. He was thrown to the tarmac and he was run over.
A good Samaritan quickly picked the injured Eugene who has writhing in pain. As he was rushing him to hospital he found the same bus at garden estate picking passengers. He told them he had the passenger they threw to the tarmac.
He wanted them to take him to hospital but they were unbothered. Instead they told him they will go to the police station to report.
The good Samaritan ended up with Eugene at KNH where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
I don't know what to call this 😢.
NTV has released a disturbing report on toxic fish from Lake Nakuru, further confirming concerns we raised in April after conducting our own independent laboratory tests.
According to the report, fish samples were found to contain mercury, lead and cadmium. That should concern every Kenyan.
What many people may not know is that months ago, we collected fish samples from Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha and subjected them to laboratory analysis.
I Sholla personally organized for several samples to be shipped outside Kenya for specialized testing.
In total, we spent over KSh 250,000 on sampling and laboratory tests because we believed Kenyans deserved answers.
The results were alarming.
We detected DDT.
We detected Endosulfan.
Chemicals linked to cancer and other serious health risks.
Now add mercury, lead and cadmium to the picture, and the concerns become even greater.
We also received additional findings that were concerning enough to require further verification before publication.
When we shared our findings in April, some dismissed the warnings. Today, independent reports are beginning to validate the concerns we raised.
This is why independent testing matters.
This is why transparency matters.
And this is why consumer protection cannot be left to chance.
Much of the work we do never trends. You won't see it on TV etc. We spend our own time, effort and resources investigating issues that directly affect the health and safety of ordinary Kenyans.
Food safety is one of them.
We will continue testing, investigating and sharing findings so Kenyans can make informed decisions about what they consume.

My goal has never been fame.
The goal is simple: to help protect the health, families and future of ordinary Kenyans.
LIES the system feeds you
- Salt is bad
- Animal fats are bad
- Seed oils are healthy
- Fruits are healthy
- Eat more vegetables to push stool
- Gout is caused by red meat
- Eggs are not good
- Cholesterol will kill you
- Breakfast is the most important meal of the day
- Eat 6 meals to accelerate your metabolism to lose weight.
- Fasting will cause ulcers.
Lies conceived by globalists and buccaneers to sell seed oils and processed carbs.
- and you will find our own Afrikans defending these lies with their blood.
