@Jolz_Aust I realise that doesn't help with the absence of silence in the first place: Centering Prayer helps me and seems to create more spaces where my inner monologue pipes down for a moment

@Jolz_Aust If it helps, as someone with a very noisy mind, silences I experience in prayer help me separate God's voice (the silence) from my own (enthusiastic) wanderings. Then I lean into them. If my mind is really noisy, sometimes I find myself thinking - thank you, God, for being quiet!
