If I could have seen into the future and known I was going to be trapped in my apartment for an extended period of time, I wouldn’t have been so reserved with my Girl Scout cookie order.
In Judaism, under תִּיקּוּן עוֹלָם ("Heal the World"), we are taught that prayer is necessary, but not sufficient. Elected leaders cannot use prayers alone to let ourselves off the hook for our own inaction.
Met with Coloradans from JewishColorado to discuss the rise in antisemitism in America.
As a Member of Congress, I will continue to use my voice to speak out and stand against hate.
We should be encouraging Americans to be civically informed and engaged outside of their home communities regardless of where they reside, including New Yorkers.
This is not a comment on the second sentence, but rather the first - as a New Yorker who now lives and works in Colorado, this ethos creates incredibly real and problematic divides between coastal cities and the rest of the country.
Every American is a citizen of New York City. It's so much a cultural and financial hub of our country that what happens in NYC is consequential for all of us. And I'm not an expert on the exigencies of the details of NYC economic policy, but I do think the Democratic Socialist program would be profound and dangerous for NYC, for the Democratic Party, and for the USA.

.@sweetgreen is launching fries today - explicitly calling out their CLEAN ingredients compared to the 10+ components of McDonald’s fries.
We ate fries in the 1960’s but weren’t chronically obese. It’s about REAL food.
As we watch food prices in America continue to rise to astronomical levels (I’m looking at you, $12 carton of eggs), why don’t we spend a little less time celebrating moral superiority against those who rely on low-cost eateries to feed their families and a little more time
Just hours after taking the oath of office, Donald Trump took down https://t.co/mM8VKA42q2 — a website to help women find health care and understand their rights.
They’re wasting no time assaulting freedom.
For all Trump's talk of manufacturing jobs, you didn't see the CEOs of GE and Caterpillar sitting in the prime seats today. You saw the CEOs of Amazon and X and Meta and Google and TikTok.
It's the attentional oligarchs whose power he cares about.
