It's the only way for the EU to stop the financial drain of so many high skilled Europeans physically leaving and setting up companies or finding better paying opportunities elsewhere due to the EU's anti-business regulation

A Suécia, aquela mesma que por anos serviu de laboratório aberto da “generosidade” europeia sob o guarda-chuva da UE, acabou de entregar o resultado do primeiro mês completo sob as novas regras: de 2.825 casos de cidadania decididos em julho, apenas 98 foram aprovados. Ou seja, mais de 96% simplesmente não passaram. E o detalhe que faz a ironia sangrar: a maioria esmagadora desses 98 veio de Finlândia, Noruega e Dinamarca. Sirianos? Um punhado. O resto? Porta fechada.

Depois de décadas de experimentação social cara e barulhenta, com bairros transformados, estatísticas de criminalidade que a imprensa preferia não olhar de frente e uma sensação crescente de que o país estava sendo redesignado sem consultar os donos da casa, a Suécia olhou no espelho e murmurou: “Chega.”

E não está sozinha. Pelo continente, um patriotismo que parecia hibernando começa a espreguiçar-se. Não o de bandeira no peito e discurso piegas, mas o de quem finalmente entende que soberania não é xenofobia, é sobrevivência. A UE, que por tanto tempo empurrava a narrativa do “mais é sempre melhor”, agora vê Estados-membros apertando o cinto, endurecendo regras e, em alguns casos, ousando falar em remigração sem pedir licença a Bruxelas.

O próximo passo lógico? Não é mistério. Quem abriu as portas sem controle agora tem de lidar com a conta. Deportação em massa, remigração em massa, as palavras que antes provocavam histeria moral agora ecoam como solução óbvia. Trump, com todos os seus excessos e memes, pelo menos tinha a coragem de dizer em voz alta o que muitos europeus sussurravam: tire quem não se integra, preserve o que ainda resta.

A Europa não está “voltando atrás”. Está apenas, com atraso e muito sarcasmo interno, lembrando que países não são hotéis de temporada infinita. E a Suécia, de todos os lugares, acabou de provar que até o laboratório mais otimista eventualmente cansa de queimar o próprio chão.

O Ocidente ainda pode se salvar. Mas só se parar de fingir que a solução é mais do mesmo.

This is brutal — the EU is forcing banks outside the EU to stop providing core banking services to EU residents, unless those banks set up a licensed branch inside the EU.

Note that what matters is your residence, not your passport — an EU citizen who is tax resident elsewhere is not affected.

If you want to avoid trouble opening an account with any non-EU bank in the future, I recommend securing residency outside the EU (we'll gladly help with Paraguay, Uruguay or Panama).

As an EU resident, you may already run into problems opening a bank account outside the EU from next year.

EU Directive 2024/1619 ("CRD VI") introduces a new Article 21c. From 11 January 2027, it prohibits banks established outside the EU from providing core banking services — including deposit-taking — to clients established or situated in the European Union, unless the bank operates a licensed branch in the relevant member state.

A May 2026 report on Muslim Brotherhood-linked organizations in Italy says Qatar has been the network’s principal source of foreign state financing, channeling tens of millions of euros into mosques and Islamic institutions.

According to the report, Qatar Charity, operating in Europe through Nectar Trust, funded 45 projects worth €50 MILLION in Italy, more than in any other European country.

The main beneficiary was UCOII, described in the report as Italy’s leading Muslim Brotherhood-linked organization. Former UCOII president Izzeddin Elzir acknowledged that the organization received at least €30 MILLION from the Qatari funding.

Qatar Charity financed 43 UCOII-affiliated mosques, including construction projects in Bergamo and Ravenna and projects at existing Islamic centers in Rome, Piacenza and elsewhere.

The report’s overall assessment is that Qatar and Kuwait have been the principal foreign funding sources for Muslim Brotherhood-linked organizations in Italy, with Qatar Charity alone transferring approximately €50 million to projects in the country.
