Husband died 2 days after daughter’s 3rd birthday and the day after the funeral wife finds out she’s pregnant.

23 year old aunt moves in to help raise babies.

It was NOT like on full house.

A lot more crying. Less signing.

We did have a cute dog though.

I remember an older nurse catching me crying in the supply room after a very traumatic code (think frothy blood intubation) and she didn’t say anything, and when I came back out I overheard her making fun of me.

I looked at her and said “I’d rather be like me than like you.”

Seeing how much the world accepts that it’s impossible to move on after watching CPR really makes me think about how we (medical professionals, especially those who work in Emergency departments) are expected to just move on immediately after a code.
