Halifax Folks! Early voting starts today for Mayor & council elections. If you care about housing and improving transportation, this election matters a lot.
I'm supporting @WayeMason, and I think you should too.
Since 2012 @WayeMason has been in the trenches working on the problems and opportunities facing Haligonians. He’s been visible, accountable and transparent and that’s why he is getting my vote for Mayor of Halifax.
@betsy_kane I am becoming convinced that provincial immigration programs are now rife with fraud by unscrupulous representatives and unauthorized agents, many right in plain sight. Here in Nova Scotia, the stories are astounding. And it makes it way worse for legit applicants and businesses.
The PR Portal and PR Rep Portal have had major issues since the update on July 18. Since July 28 many applicants and representatives report being unable to "complete" forms and submit PR and PR Card applications as forms revert back to "in progress" once completed @CitImmCanada
My biggest takeaway from the Titan story is that we absolutely could have coordinated, multinational efforts to ensure no migrant dies crossing the sea and we choose not to.
Had a client tell me that ChatGPT told them how to submit a permanent residence application which they (clearly and unequivocally) do not qualify for. I get that AI doesn't know everything but I don't get why it is a such a bald-faced liar.
@MatthewHalliday Agree that planning must consider this new normal. And if this is true, maybe start with installing fire hydrants: https://t.co/lLshoBdc5D
Halifax Fire had warned that 3 subdivisions evacuated in Tantallon fire were built with ‘inadequate water sources to fight fires’ https://t.co/iOCYtUUmoT by @Tim_Bousquet
It’s crazy enough that many newer subdivisions don’t have sidewalks or have them on only one side of the road. And above-ground power lines. But no fire hydrants? Wow.

Question we posed to IRCC: Does full-time work experience (after November 16, 2022) while a full-time student count towards the 1 year of work experience needed for various immigration programs such as AIP?
Answer: Yes

Minister Fraser adds (at 35:00ish), employers will be able to work with referral partners [who are working on developing inventories of talent] to find workers for this new program.
Positive new developments on the Economic Mobility Pathway Pilot: a standalone federal program within EMPP, and 6 months processing time. https://t.co/Wsb8iIwbe5 #cdnimm@CitImmCanada
@CitImmCanada@SeanFraserMP What happened to the 12-month processing target for these? Every one of these delayed applications represents a Canadian family experiencing stress and hardship as they wait for their chosen caregiver to get approved. #cdnimm
From 2019 to 2022 (March 31) IRCC received 24,725 applications under its Home Child Care and home Support Worker pilots. It processed 2,494 of these applications.
From 2017 to 2021 the approval rate for caregiver programs overall declined from 97% to 81%.
@namesilo please look into this domain you host: https://t.co/PgWmnczON0 - it appears to be a fraudulent site with lawyers' profiles stolen from other sites, and some obvious red flags (not least of which is that awful name) #cdnimm
