@Joeinblack Just authorized $1500+ worth of work on my 15-yr-old subcompact, because (a) I like it & (b) it gets great gas mileage. My husband hates it but he doesn't drive it. Bonus: I can fit things in it that he can't fit in his small SUV. And it's fun driving a stickshift.

@SerenaAbutilon @jahmekyagyal Medicare is absolutely not mandatory. Not sure where you got that idea. And people who have only Medicare are still responsible for a hefty portion of their medical bills, necessitating a supplemental policy or Medicare Advantage.

@lady_valor_07 I have a friend who is a retired school superintendent. She said that making school closure decisions was the hardest part of her job. That was before school shootings etc.

@lady_valor_07 TV & radio news, but it was rare. In the 90s sometimes had to leave w/kids for school b4 knowing for sure. One morning, radio said the high school (next door to the K8) was closed, which meant ours was closed. Turned around to go home, then DJ said it was a prank from a HS kid.
